Mick Flanagan (Andrew Ferguson) is in trouble. The tough teenage hoodlum and his buddies (Peter Diaz, Ted Neal, Daniel Reininghaus) have finally crossed the line, and now must look to his ex-con brother Ritchie (Chris Scarpelli) for help.

Toronto Actors Feedback from previous Workshop:

“I wish I had found you 5 years ago…but now that I have I think my life is going to change.”

“Not only did I hear things that consolidated things for me…but I was given keys to previously “invisible” locks that were holding me back!”

“I would say GO FOR IT. This has validated many things I’ve heard before, but not fully understood. This gave me the freedom to be real… I FEEL EMPOWERED. Do the workshop.”

“Barbara is full of wisdom, power, compassion AND humour. She gets you awake so you can chose to LIVE YOUR DREAM. Be full, UNASHAMED and EXCITED to start each day. Thank you a million times.”

TRAINING: How YOU’RE Training the Industry.

TRAINING AND TEACHING

Did you know that you are a trainer?

Did you know that you train people how to treat you? When you don’t ask for what you need you train people that they don’t have to give you anything. When you call someone and need that person to call you and they don’t, you train them that they never have to call you back. When you don’t tell someone they made a mistake because you don’t want to make waves or upset them, you train them that you will take care of their mishaps. When you don’t hold people accountable to being their word, you train them you don’t matter. You are training people that they can treat you any way they want to. If they think about you it’s an afterthought. A training ground for nobody to communicate with you in a timely fashion or at all. Think about all the areas of your life you are backing away when you get scared or feel uncomfortable. You sit at home afraid to pick up the phone because of all those feelings. Don’t let people get away with this….

This can change immediately if you want it to change. Recognize what you are letting slip by. I’ve never met a passive person who was lazy. It’s fear that keeps actions stagnant. I understand how brave it will be for you to shift into opening up and communicating. Your self-esteem depends on how you ask for what you need. If someone doesn’t respond to you, what are you doing with them anyway? Having a boss or an agent or a lover who won’t respond in a timely fashion means that they don’t have respect for anyone. It’s not just you! Re-train the people in your life that you matter and if they still treat you as an afterthought, then they have to go.

He’s a brilliantly talented pianist who had a humiliating panic attack during a concert some four years ago and retired into his mother’s home, never to emerge again. Particularly close to his mother, and devastated by her death, Maury is prone to sudden anxiety. However, with the help of his mysterious, wise Baachan (grandmother), and also through the meditative act of sewing on his mother’s old foot-treadle machine, Maury is eventually able to escape the trap of his own fear and venture out into the wider world once more, resuming his concert career with stellar results…
